Job summary

Solina Cardiff is seeking a Junior Sous Chef to support the Head Chef and Sous Chefs in daily kitchen operations. You’ll help lead service, maintain high food standards and support training across the kitchen team.

This role suits an experienced Chef de Partie ready to step into kitchen leadership, with a strong grasp of operations and a passion for quality ingredients. Nights and weekends will be required to cover busy trading periods.

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy kitchen at Chef de Partie level or higher.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, service and kitchen operations.
• Passion for quality ingredients and consistent standards.
• Confidence guiding and training junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Support Head Chef and Sous Chefs with day-to-day kitchen operations.
• Lead shifts and take responsibility when required.
• Ensure dishes are prepared to Solina’s recipes and standards.
• Monitor quality, portions, presentation and speed of service.
• Organise mise en place and ensure sections are ready for service.
• Assist with stock, ordering, deliveries and waste management.
• Maintain cleanliness and uphold food safety procedures.
• Train and develop junior chefs and apprentices.
