Job summary

Serco Limited in Shropshire is seeking a Junior Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in a busy kitchen serving guests at events and conferences. The role involves preparing, cooking and presenting dishes to spec, ensuring high standards of safety and quality.

You will supervise and develop kitchen colleagues, work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, and benefit from training, uniform, gym access and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience in a professional kitchen environment.
• Food safety qualification or willingness to obtain one.
• Able to supervise and support colleagues in a busy kitchen.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Flexible with evenings and weekend hours.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef in day-to-day kitchen operations.
• Prepare, cook and present dishes to spec.
• Ensure food safety, hygiene and health and safety standards.
• Supervise, coach and develop kitchen staff.
• Deliver daily catering operations and events.
