Job summary

Hallmark Luxury Care Homes is seeking a Junior Sous Chef for a 9 month maternity cover to help deliver exceptional, nutritious meals for residents. You will work closely with the Head Chef to maintain high standards in a luxury setting while prioritising resident satisfaction and dietary requirements.

The role offers a supportive team, development opportunities, and a predictable rota with no late evenings and no split shifts. Salary is £14.50 per hour with ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Holds, or is working towards, a City & Guilds, NVQ, SVQ or equivalent culinary qualification.
• Has experience working in a professional kitchen environment.
• Understands the importance of nutrition and catering for a variety of dietary requirements.
• Demonstrates a good understanding of food hygiene, HACCP principles, and health & safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef and Senior Sous Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
• Prepare and present delicious, nutritious meals using fresh, seasonal ingredients.
• Assist with menu planning, stock control, ordering, and food cost management.
• Help maintain the highest standards of food hygiene, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Build positive relationships with residents and create enjoyable dining experiences.
• Support residents' individual dietary and nutritional needs.
• Work as part of a passionate hospitality team to deliver exceptional service.
