Hallmark Luxury Care Homes is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join our bighearted team. You’ll help with food preparation, support the kitchen, and uphold high cleanliness and hygiene standards. Our rota is 4 days on/3 days off, with paid overtime and time off in lieu for hours over 40.

About the Role:

This is an amazing entry level role for anyone who wants to build their career within the hospitality/ care industry! You'll have the opportunity to get involved in a wide range of kitchen activities, including food preparation, supporting the kitchen team, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are always met. We also promote a good work/life balance! We have developed a team rota of 4 days on/ 3 days off as being very successful and fulfilling for our kitchen team. That means most evening shifts are finished by 7pm and only working every other weekend. This also includes paid overtime / time off in Lieu of any hours worked over 40 hours.

About You:

• Kitchen Experience: While prior experience in a kitchen environment is advantageous, it's not essential. We value passion and a willingness to learn above all else.
• Reliability: Punctuality and reliability are highly valued traits that contribute to the smooth running of our kitchen operations.
• Adaptability: The ability to embrace change with an open mind is crucial in our dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the hospitality team to ensure the catering services and residential dining experience is of the highest standard and quality.
• Support the catering team in ensuring the food and ingredients are prepared for the day ahead.
• Ensure that all regulatory and statutory requirements are met and company policies and procedures are adhered to including the Food Safety Management System. Ensure that the cleaning schedules are maintained according to company policies and procedures.Attend all Health and Safety, food hygiene and COSSH training updates as required by the company to ensure that safe practices are adhered to at all times.
