Job summary

Hallmark Luxury Care Homes in Wales is seeking a Junior Sous Chef on a 9 month maternity cover to help deliver nutritious, delicious meals for residents. Youll work with Head Chef and Senior Sous Chef, using fresh, seasonal ingredients, with a focus on quality and consistency.

You will enjoy a 4 days on, 3 days off rota, 10-hour shifts, alternate weekends, and no late evenings or split shifts. Salary is £14.50 per hour, with ongoing training and opportunities to develop within a supportive,

Qualifications

• Holds, or is working towards, a City & Guilds, NVQ, SVQ or equivalent culinary qualification.
• Has experience working in a professional kitchen environment.
• Understands the importance of nutrition and catering for a variety of dietary requirements.
• Demonstrates a good understanding of food hygiene, HACCP principles, and health & safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the Head Chef and Senior Sous Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
• Preparing and presenting delicious, nutritious meals using fresh, seasonal ingredients.
• Assisting with menu planning, stock control, ordering, and food cost management.
• Helping maintain the highest standards of food hygiene, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Building positive relationships with residents and creating enjoyable dining experiences.
• Supporting residents' individual dietary and nutritional needs.
• Working as part of a passionate hospitality team to deliver exceptional service.
