Job summary

Holroyd Howe is a leading UK contract caterer serving independent schools and colleges. We are seeking a dedicated Sous chef for Winchester House School, Brackley, to deliver fresh, high-quality meals and uphold strict kitchen standards.

Working Monday to Friday with occasional weekend duties, you’ll join a supportive team with opportunities for bespoke training, 28 holiday days, pension and life insurance. Free meals are provided whilst at work.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small kitchen team and develop their confidence and capability.

Salary: £32,500 per annum (Monday to Friday role, with the occasional weekend working)

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Experience in leadinga small team, who can build confidence and capability in your teams enabling them to succeed
• Ready to work in a fast-paced environment whilst always leading by example
• Pride in your work, constantly looking for ways to improve and continually learning
• A good understanding of Food Safety & Health and Safety regulations, ability to follow brand standards and comply with company policies.
• Reliable transportation for your commute to work between the hours of 6.30am - 7.30pm on a rota basis, Monday to Friday with the rare weekend duties.
• Support the team withthe head chef, whilst maintaining audit standards for food and health & safety compliance while meeting EHO expectations
• Ensuring the team maintains a high standard of cleanliness and food safety on site to maintain a safe environment for our customers, our clients and ourselves
• Highly organised, with a focus on forward planning
• Prepare fresh ingredients by hand, to produce the 3 weekly menu cycle
• Accurately labelling products ensuring lawful compliance around food safety and allergen compliance each shift.
• Be a skilled multitasker
• Learn new skills or improve skills already mastered
