Job summary

The Inn Collection Group is seeking a Junior Sous Chef for the Lindisfarne Inn, near Berwick-upon-Tweed. You will support the Sous and Head Chef to deliver high-quality home-made meals in a busy kitchen within the Lindisfarne Inn, part of our multi-award-winning pubs-with-rooms portfolio.

You'll thrive in a fast-paced environment, contribute to a seamless dining experience, manage stock and orders, and help lead the team when required.

• Experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Ability to work effectively within a team.
• Excellent communication and time management.

Responsibilities

• Support the smooth operation of the kitchen alongside the Sous Chef and Head Chef.
• Prepare and plate dishes to high standards in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain stock control and assist with supplier orders.
• Ensure kitchen cleanliness and comply with hygiene standards.
• Step up to lead the team when required to ensure service runs smoothly.

You'll Fit Right Inn

As Junior Sous Chef, you'll play a key role in supporting the smooth operation of our kitchen, ensuring every dish reflects our high standards and showcases the best of fresh, quality ingredients. Working closely with the Sous Chef and Head Chef, you'll assist in maintaining consistency and excellence across all areas of the kitchen.

Your role combines hands‑on cooking with supporting the team, ensuring service runs smoothly and efficiently. You'll thrive in fast‑paced environments, staying calm under pressure and meeting deadlines with precision. Your strong interpersonal skills will help you build great relationships with colleagues across the kitchen, front‑of‑house, and management teams.

In addition to cooking, you'll assist with operational tasks such as stock control, supplier orders, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness. You'll step up to help lead the team when required, contributing to a seamless and enjoyable dining experience for our guests.
