Your New Position
As a junior software QA engineer at Arqit, you'll work on strategic cybersecurity products, contributing to the design review, testing, and support of software components throughout the SDLC, using modern cloud architectures, frameworks, tools, and languages.
This role offers the chance to make a real-world impact within a high-performing team, working alongside product managers, scientists, cryptographers, and engineers on emerging technologies.
What you'll be doing
- Collaborating with cybersecurity experts to address security threats.
- Developing and testing cloud-based cybersecurity products using distributed cloud technologies.
- Fostering a quality-driven engineering culture to ensure confident product releases.
- Working with the product team to ensure high-quality features and assessing risks.
- Creating and executing tests for services and applications across various platforms and cloud environments.
- Refining agile practices to deliver superior software quality.
- Working with product management to refine requirements and ensure excellent UX.
- Investigating issues, identifying root causes, and providing solutions.
What we're looking for
- At least 2 years of manual testing experience.
- Experience with exploratory and risk-based testing.
- Proficient in developing and executing test plans and cases.
- Knowledge of at least one scripting or programming language.
- ISTQB Foundation or equivalent qualification.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Experience with automation tools and frameworks is a plus.
- Degree in Computer Science, electronic engineering, or related fields, or significant relevant experience.
- Ability to work in the UK without restrictions; future security clearance may be required.
Additional useful skills include:
- Cybersecurity industry experience.
- Experience with software triage and root cause analysis.
- Knowledge of cryptography.
- Experience with database testing (SQL/NoSQL).
- Agile/SCRUM/Lean Kanban experience.
- Knowledge of hardware security features (TPM, SGX, SME/SEV, Keychain).
- API testing experience.
