Job summary

Oh Polly is seeking a talented Junior Shopify Developer to join our London-based digital product team. You will own the front-end of our Shopify platform, collaborating with eCommerce and design to standardise usage across brands and raise the bar on performance and quality.

You will implement Liquid templates, manage CI/CD pipelines, optimise Core Web Vitals, and translate concepts into polished HTML, CSS, and JavaScript while maintaining a sharp eye for detail and user experience.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Shopify development, including Liquid templating, Shopify CLI and theme architecture.
• Experience working across multi-store Shopify setups, sharing components and standards between brands.
• Confident with Git workflows.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for Shopify themes, automating builds and previews.
• Solid understanding of modern front-end build tooling (Vite, Webpack or esbuild) and troubleshooting bundling/asset pipelines.
• A genuine passion for testing and writing tests to improve quality.
• Experience with Shopify apps and broader ecosystem, evaluating tools.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and taking briefs to concrete solutions.

Responsibilities

• Work across the front-end development of our Shopify storefront, delivering high-performance experiences that convert and delight our customers.
• Lead the standardisation of how we use Shopify across our brands, establishing best practices, coding standards and documentation the wider team can follow.
• Optimize site performance across Core Web Vitals, page speed and conversion, continuously identifying and implementing improvements.
• Work with third-party Shopify apps and integrations, evaluating new tools and ensuring harmony.
• Write robust, well-tested code, championing a testing culture and ensuring quality from the start.
• Collaborate with designers and eCommerce managers to translate concepts into polished Liquid, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
