Job summary

Fawkes & Reece London is seeking a Junior Setting Out Engineer to join our site delivery team in London. The role offers full training and development, with exposure to complex piling and foundation projects across commercial and residential sectors.

The ideal candidate has 1-2 years in setting out, engineering or surveying, basic Total Station and GPS experience, and a proactive, detail-focused mindset. CSCS is preferred for site work.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years' experience in setting out, engineering or surveying.
• Basic experience using Leica Total Stations or GPS equipment.
• Interest in piling, foundations, concrete and civil engineering.
• CSCS card preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with setting out of piling, foundations, ground beams and RC works.
• Learn to use Leica TS16 Total Stations, GPS equipment and surveying software.
• Support Senior Engineers with as-built surveys and QA checks.
• Carry out formation surveys and record site measurements.
• Assist with pre-pour inspections and ensure works match design.
• Produce survey records and maintain site documentation.
• Interpret engineering drawings and learn construction methodologies.
• Work with site teams to ensure safe and accurate delivery.
