Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment Limited is seeking a Junior Service Engineer (Mechanical / Electrical) in Ashford. The role involves servicing and repairing vacuum packaging machinery and tabletop slicers at customer sites, plus workshop work and ongoing training.

You will cover a local Southeast patch, with a Monday–Friday 7am–4pm schedule and a 1-in-5 on-call rota. This is an excellent chance to gain structured training and progression toward a Multi Skilled Engineer position.

Qualifications

Are you a Junior/Trainee Service Engineer from a mechanical or electrical background, looking for full internal training shadowing experienced engineers, and clear progression to a fully-fledged Service Engineer?

In this role, you will be responsible for covering a local patch, carrying out the installation, servicing, maintenance and repair of vacuum packaging machinery and tabletop slicers at customer sites. You will also work in the workshop repairing and refurbishing equipment, while troubleshooting technical issues and providing effective solutions to customers.

This role would suit someone with a Mechanical or Electrical background, perhaps with an HNC, HND, or NVQ, looking for a role in a new, growing company that offers clear progression into a Multi Skilled Engineer role.

The Role:
