Job summary

National Gas Services is seeking a Junior Quantity Surveyor in Birmingham to support commercial and contractual management of infrastructure projects across the UK and Ireland. You will work with project and commercial teams to manage costs, risk, and documentation on a hybrid pattern requiring at least three days in the office.

Qualifications

• Degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying, or currently working towards a Quantity Surveying degree or equivalent professional qualification.
• Knowledge of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts, including Options A, C, and E.
• Strong communication, influencing, and negotiation skills.
• Commercial awareness and understanding of supply chain management.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the commercial and contractual management of infrastructure projects.
• Managing commercial activities on allocated contracts while contributing across a wider portfolio.
• Monitoring project expenditure, validating payment applications, and preparing payment certificates.
• Supporting risk management activities and maintaining project risk registers alongside project managers.
• Producing commercial reports, meeting records, and supporting project documentation.
• Assisting with tender evaluations, supplier engagement, and contract negotiations.
• Supporting dispute resolution activities through the collation and review of commercial information.
