Job summary

Hudson Shribman in Essex/Hertfordshire Border is seeking a Junior Quality Inspector to join the Quality department. The role focuses on first-off, in-process and final inspection of precision machined components, with full training provided.

You will learn to read drawings, use micrometers, verniers, height gauges and CMMs, and contribute to quality records while working with production and engineering teams in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering background with interest in quality
• Ability to read mechanical drawings confidently
• Experience using basic measuring equipment such as micrometers/verniers/gauges
• Good attention to detail and methodical approach
• Strong communication and willingness to learn

Responsibilities

• Carry out first-off, in-process and final inspection of precision engineered components
• Read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings and specifications
• Use precision measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers, height gauges and other inspection tools
• Learn to operate inspection equipment including CMMs (training provided)
• Complete inspection documentation and quality records
• Work closely with production and engineering teams to maintain quality standards
• Support continuous improvement within the Quality department
• Work safely and in accordance with company quality procedures
