Job summary

Hudson Shribman is seeking a Junior Quality Inspector to join our Essex/Hertfordshire border manufacturing operation. The role covers first-off, in-process and final inspection of precision machined components, with full training provided.

You will develop your skills with micrometers, verniers, height gauges and CMMs, interpreting drawings and maintaining quality records in a high-precision environment. This is a permanent day-shift opportunity with long-term career development.

Qualifications

• A mechanical engineering, manufacturing or precision engineering background.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanically drawn drawings.
• Experience using basic measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers or gauges.
• Good attention to detail and a methodical approach.
• Strong communication and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Carry out first-off, in-process and final inspection of precision engineered components.
• Read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings and specifications.
• Use precision measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers, height gauges and other inspection tools.
• Learn to operate inspection equipment including CMMs (training provided).
• Complete inspection documentation and quality records.
• Work closely with production and engineering teams to maintain quality standards.
• Support continuous improvement within the Quality department.
• Work safely and in accordance with company quality procedures.
