Job summary

Pacific Life Insurance Company is seeking a Junior Public Credit Analyst to join the Public Bond Team in Newport Beach, CA. You will perform fundamental credit analysis on public fixed income investments supporting the General Account backing policyholder obligations.

You will work with a team of 11 investment professionals, calibrating risk across investment opportunities and developing credit research insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field.
• 0–3 years of experience in credit research, investment analysis, banking, valuation, accounting, consulting, or related financial field.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and fixed income markets.

Responsibilities

• Support Public Bond Credit Analysts in fundamental credit research for investment grade and high yield credits.
• Assist in developing Buy/Sell/Hold recommendations for the General Account.
• Collaborate with the 11-person Public Credit Analysis team to identify best opportunities for the portfolio.
• Build relationships with sell-side analysts, rating agencies, and information providers.
