Job Description: Junior Project Accountant

We are a small, thriving company based in Farnborough, delivering proofs of concept and high-quality, focused IT consultancy.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Junior Project Accountant to join our finance team. Reporting directly to the Head of Portfolio Accounting, the Junior Project Accountant will be responsible for providing comprehensive financial support to our projects, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints, and facilitating accurate financial reporting.

This is a full-time, office-based position (up to 5 days/week, with ad-hoc WFH options). Start date: ASAP (June 2024).

Essential Skills and Qualities:

Experience:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration
• Proficiency in financial management software and tools to streamline processes

Qualifications:

• Relevant accounting qualification or advanced in qualification (ACCA/CIMA/Equivalent)
• QBE (Qualified by Experience)

Tasks / Responsibilities:

• Partner with Business Development, Operations, and finance teams to provide financial guidance, analysis, and ensure compliance throughout project lifecycle
• Assist in developing and maintaining project budgets, forecasts, and financial models
• Monitor project expenditure, identify variances, and support decision-making
• Prepare and distribute financial reports, including variance analysis and cash flow projections
• Coordinate billing and invoicing activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Ensure proper revenue recognition in line with milestones and standards
• Maintain financial records for audit and compliance
• Act as a point of contact for financial inquiries from project teams and stakeholders
