Secret Mode in Sheffield is seeking a Junior Programmer to help implement new game systems, focusing on C++ and Blueprint for Unreal Engine. You will work with designers and artists, contribute to multiple titles, and grow your skills in a close-knit studio.

You will collaborate across engines, be mentored by experienced programmers, and help bring features and content to players, while ensuring performance and quality across platforms.

Qualifications

• Significant programming experience from projects, coursework, internships, or work.
• Strong understanding of C++, including debugging and optimisation.
• Experience with Unreal Engine and game development workflows.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with designers, artists and engineers to implement new features and systems from concept to execution.
• Work on game systems including logic, UI, scripting and engine features.
• Ensure cross-platform performance and robust code across PC, Console and Mobile where applicable.
• Produce clean, well-tested code following team standards and guidelines.
• Assist with platform-specific bug fixes and performance optimisation.
• Contribute ideas on feature scope and implementation approaches.
