Job summary

Zero Surplus is seeking a Junior Product Development Engineer to join its R&D team in the UK. You will support converting concepts into manufacturable products, working on prototyping, drawings, and testing while ensuring compliance with IEC/UL standards.

Graduates or those with up to two years of experience can apply. The role offers full-time work at the Harlow HQ with potential overseas supplier liaison and a clear path to a future senior position.

Qualifications

• Degree in product design or industrial design required.
• Engineering mindset with a practical approach to DFM.
• Interest in how things are made and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Support prototyping, 3D-printed models, and engineering drawings.
• Prepare specifications for quotation and manufacture.
• Conduct in-house testing and liaise with external labs for certification.
• Prepare sample evaluation reports and manage NPI timelines.
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams; visit manufacturers overseas as needed.
