Job summary

TC Group, a fast-growing Top 20 UK accountancy firm, is recruiting for a Personal Tax trainee. You’ll join an experienced team, gain hands-on exposure to Self-Assessment, and benefit from full training and ATT/AAT study support.

You will develop core tax knowledge while handling client records, liaising with HMRC and contributing to multiple tax projects in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• GCSEs with English and Maths at grade 4-6 (C-B)
• 112 UCAS points via A Levels or equivalent Level 3 qualifications
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Able to work independently and in a team
• Proactive approach to learning and development
• Interest in building a career in Personal Tax

Responsibilities

• Assist with Self-Assessment tax returns and computations for review and submission
• Maintain accurate tax documents, client records and compliance files
• Collect and reconcile client information on income, gains, reliefs and expenses
• Prepare draft tax return summaries, requests and tax payment reminders
• Monitor deadlines and support timely submission of tax returns
• Respond to routine client queries and provide admin support to Personal Tax team
• Prepare correspondence and liaise with HMRC and third parties
• Support ad hoc tax projects including ERS reporting and ATED compliance
• Attend technical training to grow personal tax knowledge
• Use internal systems and complete timesheets per firm procedures
