A leading health and beauty retailer based near East Croydon Station is looking for a motivated graduate to assist in packaging development related to health & beauty products. The role emphasizes sustainability, innovation, and collaboration in a hybrid working environment. You will engage in various packaging projects while supporting the company’s ESG objectives, liaising with suppliers and stakeholders. Location: East Croydon Station – Head Office.
Hours: 37.5 | 9.00am - 5.30pm – Hybrid working available depending on role responsibilities with 2 days working from home and 3 days in our stylish, modern and collaborative office close to East Croydon Station.

Working on a diverse range of products across FMCG Health & Beauty, the successful applicant will support the packaging technologist in NPD and packaging development in line with our ESG policy. With knowledge of price implications of pack changes they will also look to improve cost prices, while maintaining pack structure and functionality.
ESG
Support the delivery of Superdrug's ESG goals and input into its continuing development.
Understand the changing landscape of packaging and recycling. Attend internal and external meetings, packaging shows, conferences, CSR talks, webinars and participate in comp shops.
Understand recyclability according to OPRL standards, reduce/avoid over‑packing and work with relevant project teams to improve.
Structural
Support packaging development of pack formats for structural integrity, brand alignment and on‑shelf presence.
Feedback and work with suppliers on any required amends.
Artwork
Support in the reviewing of artworks for correct layout of artwork on cutter guide, print specification, FSC certification and recycling information in accordance with latest OPRL guidance.
Other
Use packaging and print knowledge to suggest ways to save on cost of goods.
Input in to process improvements.
Management of packaging data, packaging specifications and pack approvals.
Graduate with interest in health & beauty packaging or relevant experience in the health & beauty FMCG sector.
Ability to work to time critical deadlines.
Clear communicator who can liaise with multiple project stakeholders to achieve the right result.
Demonstrates accuracy and an eye for detail.
A passion for packaging sustainability and development, from brief to store.
Interest in commercials, and how packaging design and specification can impact overall cost.
Team player who can demonstrate a proactive approach and is results driven.
