Job Description

Junior Mechanical Estimator required for our client, a specialist HVAC services company in Berkshire that offers service, maintenance, design, and installation of air conditioning systems to the commercial market. The Junior Mechanical Estimator will work alongside a senior estimator to assist in estimating design and build projects across various sectors including offices, schools, apartments, and healthcare, with project values typically up to £1.5m.

The Estimator will be based in the office in Berkshire and must have a proven background in preparing detailed cost pricing and estimates for mechanical packages and building services for commercial sites.

Mechanical Estimator Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing cost pricing and estimates for new projects up to approximately £1.5m in value, particularly for air conditioning projects.
• Make amendments or variations to existing contracts.
• Analyze subcontractor and supplier tenders for compliance with specifications and drawings.
• Present tenders to Directors for review prior to final submission.
• Attend handover meetings with the contracting team on successful tenders.

Position Requirements:

• Previous experience in estimating design and build mechanical projects or assisting alongside a senior estimator.
• Based within a commutable distance of the office near Thatcham.

Remuneration and Benefits:

• Salary in the range of £40,000 - £50,000.
• 28 days of annual leave, including bank holidays, plus a Christmas shutdown (3 or 4 days).
• Working hours from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.
