Job summary

DFDS is seeking a Junior Local Financial Accountant to join the finance team. The role focuses on journal entries, reconciliations, KPI reporting, and supporting the close processes.

AAT qualification or ACCA/CIMA study is preferred, with strong Excel and numerical accuracy skills. Ideal candidates are organized, capable of meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and eager to contribute to continuous improvement within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• AAT qualified and/or studying towards ACCA or CIMA.
• Strong Excel skills and numerical accuracy.
• Experience in a finance or accounting role is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries in line with accounting standards.
• Perform balance sheet and bank reconciliations, resolving discrepancies.
• Support monitoring and reporting of KPIs.
• Handle finance-related queries from internal stakeholders.
• Maintain and review the general ledger ensuring data integrity.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies.
• Support wider finance team and ad hoc reporting.
