Job summary

Oval Deene Recruitment LTD in Gloucestershire is seeking a Junior Kitchen Sales Designer for a luxury kitchen designer and manufacturer. You will support showroom and design team from first consultation through to design development, specification and sale.

The successful candidate will combine creativity with a growing commercial mindset, learning about layouts, materials, appliances and finishes while building client relationships in a premium environment.

• Developing knowledge of kitchen layouts, spatial planning, cabinetry, materials, appliances, worktops and finishes.

The Opportunity:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Kitchen Sales Designer to join a multi-award-winning British designer and manufacturer of luxury bespoke kitchens and furniture.

Our client combines architectural thinking, considered design and British craftsmanship to create beautiful, highly personalised spaces designed around how people live. Their kitchens are designed in their UK showrooms and manufactured at their own factory in the Malvern Hills.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and creative individual looking to develop their career within the luxury kitchen and interior design sector.

Working alongside experienced designers, you will learn how to take clients from the initial consultation through to design development, specification and sale, developing your technical, design and commercial skills along the way.

The Role:

As a Junior Kitchen Sales Designer, you will support the showroom and design team in delivering an exceptional client experience, while developing your own design and sales capabilities.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting experienced designers throughout the complete kitchen design and sales process.
• Welcoming clients into the showroom and helping create a warm, professional and inspiring experience.
• Assisting with initial client consultations and understanding their lifestyle, requirements, aspirations and budget.
• Developing your knowledge of kitchen layouts, spatial planning, cabinetry, materials, appliances, worktops and finishes.
• Producing and amending kitchen designs, plans, elevations and visualisations.
• Supporting designers with quotations, specifications and presentation material.
• Learning how to present design concepts and proposals confidently to clients.
• Building strong relationships with clients and understanding their individual needs.
• Assisting with the selection of materials, finishes, appliances, sinks, taps and other elements of the kitchen.
• Developing an understanding of our client’s bespoke product ranges, manufacturing capabilities and design philosophy.
• Supporting the team with follow-ups, enquiries and sales administration.
• Maintaining accurate client and project information throughout the sales process.
• Liaising with colleagues across design, sales, production and installation.
• Developing an understanding of project budgets, margins and commercial considerations.
• Supporting the showroom with events, client appointments and other sales activities.
• Keeping up to date with current kitchen, interior and architectural design trends.
• Progressively taking ownership of your own client projects as your experience and confidence develop.

About You:

Our client is looking for someone with creativity, commercial drive and a genuine passion for design who wants to build a long-term career within the luxury kitchen industry.

You may already have some experience in kitchen design, interiors, furniture, retail or luxury sales — or you may be a talented graduate or junior designer looking for the opportunity to develop your career.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• A genuine passion for kitchens, interiors, architecture and design.
• Some experience in kitchen design, interior design, furniture, retail, luxury sales or a related environment would be advantageous.
• A design qualification or relevant degree would be beneficial but is not essential.
• Strong creative and visual skills with excellent attention to detail.
• An understanding of spatial planning and an appreciation of proportion, materials and finishes.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The confidence and enthusiasm to build relationships with clients.
• A natural commercial awareness and desire to achieve sales targets.
• Excellent presentation skills and the ability to communicate design ideas clearly.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• A willingness to learn and develop technically and commercially.
• A professional, polished and personable approach when dealing with high-end clients.
• A collaborative team mentality, with the ability to learn from experienced designers.
• Competence with relevant design software/CAD would be advantageous.
• A proactive attitude and genuine enthusiasm for developing a career within luxury bespoke kitchen design.
