Harnham is seeking a Junior Technology Analyst to join the internal IT team. You will learn across IT administration, cyber security, AI and business systems, supporting employees with day-to-day technology needs and gaining practical coaching from partners.

You will work with our IT team and external partners in a modern cloud-based Microsoft environment, with opportunities to develop essential skills across Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Defender and AI tooling.

We are looking for a curious and service-minded Junior Technology Analyst to join Harnham’s internal IT team. You will help support our employees with their day-to-day technology needs while developing your knowledge across IT administration, cyber security, AI and business systems.

You do not need to be an expert in every area from day one. We are looking for someone with strong foundations, good judgement, a genuine interest in technology and a willingness to learn.

You will work closely with colleagues within our IT team, as well as our external technology partners and managed service provider. This will give you access to practical coaching, specialist support and exposure to a modern, cloud-based Microsoft environment.

The Role

This is a varied, hands-on role combining day-to-day user support and IT administration with growing exposure to cyber security, AI and technology improvement projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing friendly first-line support to users across Windows devices, Microsoft 365 applications and other core business systems.
• Supporting joiners, movers and leavers, including account creation, access changes, equipment preparation and the timely removal of access.
• Logging, prioritising and progressing incidents and requests, working with our managed service provider and specialist suppliers when required.
• Helping administer Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID and other cloud-based platforms.
• Preparing and deploying laptops and other equipment for new and existing employees.
• Maintaining accurate records relating to assets, licences, access and technical processes.
• Supporting routine cyber security activity, including security alerts, access reviews, device compliance, phishing simulations and vulnerability follow-up.
• Helping colleagues use Microsoft Copilot and other approved AI tools safely and effectively.
• Creating straightforward how-to guides, FAQs and short training materials.
• Assisting with the testing, piloting and rollout of new technology.
• Identifying recurring issues and suggesting improvements through better documentation, training or automation.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a genuine interest in IT, cyber security and the practical use of AI.
• Has a foundational understanding of Microsoft 365, Windows and cloud-based applications, gained through work, study, an apprenticeship, personal projects or independent learning.
• Takes a structured and methodical approach to troubleshooting.
• Communicates clearly and has the patience to explain technical topics to non-technical users.
• Is organised, dependable and attentive to detail.
• Understands the importance of confidentiality, security and following agreed processes.
• Enjoys helping others and is comfortable working in a busy, service-focused environment.
• Is proactive, curious and motivated to continue learning.

Experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, Defender, Power Automate, PowerShell or generative AI tools would be useful, but it is not essential. We would also welcome applicants who have completed or are working towards qualifications such as MS-900, AZ-900, SC-900 or CompTIA A+.
