Job summary

Clyde & Co Claims LLP in Southampton is seeking a Junior Associate to join our Tier 1 Healthcare team. The role involves handling defended clinical negligence matters, medico-legal claims and advising on regulatory issues. You will work with partners and a dynamic team on high‑quality cases and complex investigations.

We welcome candidates with 1 PQE or more who display strong legal skills, sound judgement and the ability to manage a varied caseload in a supportive, agile hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 PQE; higher levels considered.
• Proven experience in defended clinical negligence matters.
• Experience handling multimillion pound healthcare matters is desirable.
• Qualified solicitor with practising certificate under Solicitors Act 1974.

Responsibilities

• Apply legal principles to complex healthcare claims.
• Draft and interpret complex documents for litigation.
• Advise on claims involving professional standards breaches.
• Liaise with clients, witnesses and experts.
• Support seminars, publications and client events.
• Understand client business and cross-sell services.
• Prepare court documents and manage caseloads.
• Identify opportunities and contribute to firm growth.
• Demonstrate understanding of the global firm's practices.
