Job description

Working within a dynamic multi-asset Trading team, the primary role will involve the execution of Fixed Income cash products in the form of Government and Corporate bonds. Over time, expand expertise to other asset classes dealt with by the team across broader Fixed Income to cover the full range of assets confidently.

What you'll be doing:

  1. Managing and monitoring the execution of orders, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, LGIM’s policies, procedures, and risk management practices at all times.
  2. Providing investment teams with market commentary, daily feedback, and advice on traded/open positions.
  3. Assisting other traders as necessary.
  4. Building and developing strong relationships with counterparties.
  5. Working with our Trading Research team to analyse, process, and interpret large trading data sets to improve client outcomes.
  6. Assisting with technology initiatives, including system upgrades.
  7. Achieving competency in all instruments traded by the desk over time.
  8. Being aware of the Consumer Duty regulation, considering client interests at all times to ensure the delivery of good customer outcomes.
  9. Practicing LGIM cultural values and behaviors to maintain a true OneLGIM culture and foster pride in the company.

Qualifications: Who we're looking for:

  1. A strong academic background, degree educated.
  2. Attention to detail and a strong risk management mindset, manifested in double-checking work, reconciliation, and questioning unusual activities.
  3. An interest and understanding of financial markets.
  4. Some markets-facing experience preferred (product, distribution, or funds).
  5. Strong analytical skills.
  6. Quantitative and programming skills would be advantageous.
  7. Leadership qualities: strong interpersonal skills, collaborative team experience, willingness to learn new asset classes and products.
