Job description

We are delighted to be partnering with a global leader in industrial machinery manufacturing based in Gloucestershire as they look to hire an ambitious and energetic project and cost accountant to join their finance team.

Working alongside an experienced UK Finance Manager, you will focus on project and cost accounting, working alongside Operational and Commercial leadership to drive business performance.

The role will be to:

• Support commercial team with producing accurate product costings, working with both engineering and commercial to build a cost estimate to enable accurate quoting.
• Review time recording accuracy, variance reporting and development of efficiency KPIs.
• Oversight of inventory costing data, ensuring accurate costs are maintained within the ERP.
• Stock count oversight, cross checking and reporting. As well as responsibility for annual external stock count checks
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and monthly/quarterly forecasts.
• Completion of month end process and parent company reporting requirements for all allocated areas including, Revenue, Cost of Goods sold, Inventory and Work in Progress balances.
• Monthly reporting on projects profitability analysis, including comparison against estimates and actuals.

The business are looking for a candidate with previous manufacturing experience, as the role requires some knowledge of inventory and WIP finance, ideally you will have experience in the capital goods industry.

You will be AAT qualified or CIMA/ACCA part qualified, or newly qualified and looking for a commercial role.

It is a requirement to be a confident communicator with non-finance stakeholders, as well as having strong Excel ability, both technically and in your ability to distill finance information down to departmental leaders.
