Job summary

Catalyst Consultants is seeking a Junior Field Service Engineer with strong electrical and mechanical capabilities to service and repair industrial machinery across the Midlands and South England. You will work from home and travel to customer sites, with full product training provided.

You will diagnose electrical, control-system and mechanical faults, install and commission new machines, read schematics, and use diagnostic tools and remote monitoring to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• Good practical electrical engineering skills.
• Experience fault finding on industrial equipment.
• Ability to understand and follow electrical schematics.
• Exposure to PLCs, machine controls, drives, motors, sensors or industrial automation.
• Willingness to travel and stay away from home when required.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair industrial machinery.
• Install and commission new machines.
• Diagnose electrical, control-system and mechanical faults.
• Read and work from electrical schematics.
• Use diagnostic tools and remote monitoring to identify problems.
• Carry out preventative maintenance.
• Train customers in the operation of their machines.
• Work with experienced engineers on more complex issues.
• Provide customers with professional technical service.
