Junior Mechanical Estimator – £60,000 – Kent

We are looking for a motivated Junior Mechanical Estimator to join our Pre-Construction and Estimating team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone early in their estimating career to learn from experienced professionals, work on interesting projects, and develop their skills in a supportive environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Support the preparation of tenders, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Assist with obtaining and comparing subcontractor and supplier quotations.
  • Help produce cost plans, bills of quantities, and supporting documentation.
  • Work closely with senior estimators to learn negotiation and value engineering techniques.
  • Contribute to tender handovers and ensure project risks and opportunities are clearly understood.
  • Build relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.

What You Bring

  • Some experience in mechanical or construction estimating (or a strong interest in moving into this area).
  • A good understanding of construction processes and mechanical systems (academic, vocational, or work-based).
  • Confidence with spreadsheets and basic estimating software.
  • Strong organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Willingness to learn, take on feedback, and work collaboratively.
  • Clear communication skills and a proactive approach.
