Job summary

Novus Property Solutions in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Estimator to join our Bid team. This entry-level role supports pricing tenders for Public Services and Commercial projects nationwide, helping to grow technical capability and tender success.

You'll assist with take-offs, supplier enquiries, and value engineering options, while gaining exposure to multiple clients and schemes in a supportive environment, with hybrid working and a clear path to progression.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction estimating, cost planning or related technical role.
• Basic pricing/measurement understanding with willingness to learn.
• Strong written and verbal communication; detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing quotations, bids and tenders.
• Support supplier and subcontractor enquiries and review quotations.
• Assist with take-offs and quantity measurements for pricing.
• Gather materials, labour and plant data for tender submissions.
• Contribute to tender breakdowns and value engineering options.
• Liaise with colleagues, subcontractors, suppliers and clients to gather project info.
• Attend internal or client meetings as required.
• Assist in assessing operational and commercial risks in bids.
• Learn to measure projects using SMM7 or NRM (training provided).
