Job summary

Protec Fire Solutions ANZ in Nelson, UK, is seeking an on-site technical specialist to support manufacturing line transfers, relocation and industrialization. You will assist the Project Lead in planning, coordinating, and executing line ramp-ups, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor.

The role requires a university engineering degree, strong English communication, and excellent organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Lead in planning, coordinating and executing transfer, relocation, and industrialization of manufacturing lines.
• Support setup, commissioning and ramp-up phases of new production lines.
• Contribute to Lean Production line layouts to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
• Help prepare technical documentation, SOPs and project reports.
• Coordinate with Quality, Logistics and Purchasing to ensure cross-functional alignment.
• Collaborate within engineering to solve technical issues and support continuous improvement on the shop floor.

Job description

Typical Responsibilities

• Project Support: Assist the Project Lead in planning, coordinating, and executing the transfer, relocation, and industrialization of manufacturing lines.
• Line Ramp-Ups: Support the physical and technical setup, commissioning, and ramp-up phases of new production lines.
• Lean Manufacturing: Actively contribute to the design and optimization of line layouts using Lean Production principles (such as 5S and lean line design) to minimise waste and maximise efficiency.
• Documentation & Coordination: Help prepare technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and project reports.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate tasks and maintain close communication with interface departments such as Quality, Logistics, and Purchasing.
• Teamwork: Work collaboratively within the engineering team to solve technical issues and support continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor.
