Job summary

Jackie Kerr Recruitment Ltd is supporting a client in design and engineering to recruit a Junior Electrical Engineer on a permanent basis. You will assist in electrical and instrumentation design, calculations and documentation while learning our standards.

You’ll work with engineers, suppliers and contractors, with developing involvement in installation, testing and commissioning activities and a commitment to quality and continuous learning.

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering.
• Some experience or knowledge of electrical design software is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of power distribution, control systems and PLCs.
• Awareness of IEC and NEC standards is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of electrical and instrumentation designs based on customer and project requirements.
• Assist with electrical calculations and technical documentation and help ensure that designs are accurate, practical and compliant with applicable safety and performance standards.
• Work alongside Electrical and other Engineers, you will learn how different disciplines come together within our projects.
• Interact with suppliers and subcontractors and contribute to keeping engineering activities aligned with project schedules and requirements.
• Your development is an important part of the role. As your knowledge and experience grow, you will become increasingly involved in installation, testing and commissioning activities, including opportunities to participate in FATs, SATs and site visits
• Throughout your work, you will focus on quality, accuracy and continuous learning, supported by experienced colleagues who will help you further develop your technical capabilities

Job description

We at JKR are supporting our client focused on design and engineering recruit for a Junior Electrical Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.

In this role, you will support the design and development of electrical and instrumentation systems for gas turbine auxiliary equipment. Working closely with experienced Electrical and Design Engineers, you will contribute to electrical designs, calculations and technical documentation while gradually developing your knowledge of our products, systems and engineering standards.

Junior Electrical Engineer Key Responsibilities:

Junior Electrical Engineer Ideal Candidate:

• A strong interest in electrical engineering and technology
• Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or a related field
• 0–2 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering
• Some experience or knowledge of electrical design software such as AutoCAD, EPLAN or Inventor is an advantage
• Basic understanding of power distribution, control systems and PLCs;
• Awareness of IEC and NEC standards is advantageous

Junior Electrical Engineer Working Hours and benefits:

• 37.5Hours - Monday to Friday 08:30 - 16:30 (Can be Flexible)
