Job summary

Holroyd Howe is seeking a proactive Junior Duty Manager to oversee service delivery at Charterhouse School in Godalming. You’ll work with catering and kitchen teams to ensure a warm welcome, high-quality food presentation, and superb customer service in a busy school setting.

The role is hands-on, with opportunities to lead a team and develop within a leading contract catering company that serves independent schools. Onsite facilities and a collaborative environment enhance day-to-day work.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in hospitality, catering, or a supervisory role.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Good understanding of food hygiene, health & safety standards.
• Confident in supporting and motivating a team.
• Customer-focused with a proactive, hands-on approach.
• Flexible with working hours, including weekends and evenings where required.

Responsibilities

• Support the Duty Manager with the daily running of operations.
• Supervise teams during service and ensure high standards are maintained.
• Deliver excellent customer service and resolve issues where needed.
• Assist with shift coordination, briefings, and team support.
• Maintain health & safety, hygiene, and operational standards.
• Support stock control and basic operational administration.
• Lead by example and contribute to a positive team environment.
