Holroyd Howe is seeking a proactive Junior Duty Manager to oversee the smooth delivery of service at Charterhouse School in Godalming. You will work closely with the catering and kitchen teams to ensure a warm welcome, exceptional service and high-quality food presentation in a busy hospitality environment.

The role involves supervising staff, supporting daily operations, and promoting a positive team culture while delivering outstanding guest experiences.

Job Title:Junior Duty Manager
Location:Charterhouse - Godalming Surrey, GU7 2DX
Contract Type:40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7, 52 weeks per year.
Salary:Up to £37.500 per annum

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Duty Manager with the daily running of operations
• Supervise teams during service and ensure high standards are maintained
• Deliver excellent customer service and resolve issues where needed
• Assist with shift coordination, briefings, and team supportMaintain health & safety, hygiene, and operational standards
• Support stock control and basic operational administration
• Lead by example and contribute to a positive team environment

Qualifications

Qualifications & Skills:

• Previous experience in hospitality, catering, or a supervisory role
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Good understanding of food hygiene, health & safety standards
• Confident in supporting and motivating a team
• Customer-focused with a proactive, hands-on approach
• Flexible with working hours, including weekends and evenings where required
