We are currently looking for a Document Controller to join our Metlen Renewables Division in the UK. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in document management within the renewable energy sector.

Working closely with the Document Control Manager and the wider project team, you will support the management, distribution, and control of project documentation throughout the construction lifecycle. You will play an important role in ensuring that accurate, up-to-date information is available to project teams, clients, and subcontractors, helping to maintain compliance, quality, and efficient project delivery.

Your role will encompass:
  • Support the Document Control Manager in the day-to-day management of project documentation.
  • Register, receive, distribute, and archive project documents in accordance with company procedures.
  • Ensure project teams, clients, and subcontractors have access to the latest approved drawings and documentation through the Document Management System.
  • Maintain accurate document registers and audit trails throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Issue document reference numbers and manage document revisions where required.
  • Monitor document workflows to ensure timely review, approval, and distribution.
  • Support the preparation and management of project document transmittals.
  • Ensure all documentation complies with project document control procedures and company quality standards.
  • Assist with the management of as-built documentation, operation manuals, and handover records.
  • Support project reporting by maintaining accurate document status information.
  • Assist with user administration within the Document Management System, including access permissions and folder management.
  • Provide administrative support for document control activities and other project administration tasks as required.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, clients, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure document management processes are consistently followed.
  • Support training and guidance for project teams and supply chain partners on document control procedures where required.
What you bring to the role:
  • Previous experience in an administrative or document control role is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience within construction, engineering, infrastructure, or renewable energy projects would be an advantage.
  • Good organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with electronic Document Management Systems (such as Aconex, SharePoint, ProjectWise, Autodesk Construction Cloud or similar) would be advantageous.
  • Understanding of document control principles and quality management systems (ISO 9001) is desirable.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Your Benefits:
  • Attractive remuneration package
  • Private Medical Insurance
