Job summary

Bionic Services Ltd in Chester is hiring a Junior Developer to join a close-knit team and contribute from day one. You will work on Laravel applications, customer journeys, admin tools and internal services, writing clean PHP and building interactive UI with Livewire and Tailwind.

You’ll work with experienced developers to gain hands-on experience within a structured growth plan, with opportunities to learn and advance as the product stack evolves.

Qualifications

• Around 2 years' commercial experience in a PHP development role.
• Good knowledge of Laravel and its core components.
• Strong understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL.
• Confident using Git in a collaborative development environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Curiosity, initiative and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Building and enhancing features across Laravel applications.
• Developing customer-facing journeys, admin tools and internal services.
• Writing clean, maintainable and tested PHP code.
• Creating interactive user experiences with Livewire, Alpine.js and Tailwind CSS.
• Working with MySQL databases and optimizing queries.
• Troubleshooting issues and delivering fixes.
• Participating in code reviews and sprint planning.
• Supporting integrations with third-party APIs and providers.

The Role

You'llbecome part of a team of four developers working across customer-facing comparison journeys, internalplatformsand business-critical services. We use a modern tech stack with minimal legacy code, giving you the opportunity to work with technologiesyou'llcontinue to use and develop throughout your career.

Working closely with experienced developers,you'llgain hands-on experience while following a structured development plan designed to support your growth.

What you'll be doing:
