Job summary

Elliot Thomas Consulting in Sunderland is seeking a Design Manager (Junior) to oversee the design process from concept through to final delivery. The role combines office work with on-site coordination within a growing interiors and fit-out team, offering room to develop your skills and progress.

You will collaborate with clients, architects and contractors, assist in feasibility studies, prepare technical drawings, and participate in meetings.

Qualifications

• Some experience or keen interest in architecture, construction or the built environment.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Eager to learn, with a genuine interest in design and construction.
• A proactive attitude and willingness to get stuck in.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the design team through feasibility, planning and technical stages of live projects.
• Assisting with coordination between architectural design and construction/site teams.
• Helping to prepare and check technical drawings and design documentation.
• Attending client, consultant and site meetings alongside senior team members.
• Building your knowledge of the UK planning process and design and build delivery.
• Taking on increasing responsibility as your experience grows.
