Job summary

Partner One in Manchester is seeking a Junior IT Support professional to join our multidisciplinary IT team. The role requires regular onsite presence at the data center and involves supporting, maintaining, and improving IT infrastructure and security.

You will work with the Head of IT & Security and Cyber Security Lead, handle incidents, configure hardware and software, and help ensure availability, resilience, and risk management across on‑prem and cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a varied IT System Management role.
• Experience following change management and ITIL best practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Experience managing and configuring Hyper-V, OpenStack and vSphere.
• Experience managing users on Microsoft Azure, AWS, and IBM Cloud.
• Strong knowledge of security technologies including NGFW, WAF, IPS, EDR, SIEM, patch management and vulnerability management.
• Demonstrated passion for security and staying current with threats and trends.
• Self-starter eager to learn and take initiative.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting network and software issues.
• Installing, configuring, and maintaining IT and Security systems both on-prem and in cloud environments.
• Support cloud-based SAAS and PAAS solutions.
• Investigate security events and incidents; document and remediate vulnerabilities.
• Provide on-site support in the Data Center during incidents, maintenance, and projects.
• Assist with capacity planning for data center rack and server layouts.
