Job summary

CFC in London is looking for a Junior Credit Controller to join our Credit Control team, supporting day-to-day management of outstanding balances and building strong relationships with brokers.

As part of the team, you’ll work with Credit Controllers and Team Leaders to gain exposure to premium collection, cash allocation, reconciliations and broker queries, with a clear development path into a Credit Controller position.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service, finance or admin.
• Office-based experience advantageous.
• Detail-oriented with good organizational and communication skills.

Description

We're looking for a Junior Credit Controller to join our Credit Control team, supporting the day-to-day management of outstanding balances while building and maintaining strong relationships with brokers.

Working closely with Credit Controllers and Team Leaders, you'll gain exposure to all aspects of insurance credit control, including premium collection, cash allocation, reconciliations and resolving broker queries. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a long-term career in credit control within the insurance industry.

About the role

As a Junior Credit Controller, you'll take ownership of a portfolio of broker accounts, supporting the timely collection of debt and helping maintain accurate financial records. Alongside your core responsibilities, you'll contribute to team initiatives, process improvements and provide support across the wider Credit Control team when required.

This role offers excellent learning opportunities and a clear development pathway into a Credit Controller position.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and collect outstanding balances across an allocated portfolio of broker accounts.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with brokers and internal stakeholders.
• Proactively chase overdue debt and work with brokers to resolve aged balances.
• Investigate and resolve broker and finance queries in a timely and professional manner.
• Accurately allocate daily cash receipts and investigate unidentified cash and unallocated items.
• Complete account reconciliations and resolve allocation discrepancies.
• Prepare and distribute monthly broker statements.
• Distribute cash cover and allocate settlements for team action.
• Contribute to process improvements and support wider team projects.
• Provide cover and support across the Credit Control team during periods of leave or increased workload.
• Participate in team meetings and training to support personal development and collaboration.

About you

We're looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a genuine interest in developing a career in credit control and finance within the insurance industry.

You’ll ideally have previous experience in a customer service, finance or administrative role, with office-based experience being advantageous.
