Summary of Role:

We are looking for enthusiastic graduate engineers to join our Energy team to perform software design, development, and implementation for PLC/IED-based control and/or SCADA Operational Technology Systems. The role involves working in a team on all project lifecycle aspects for PLC/IED and SCADA/DCS systems in renewable power generation, storage, transmission, and distribution industries. Projects include system upgrades, modifications, and new builds. Training will be provided on the job. This role is suitable for graduates seeking a career in control system automation software.

  • University Degree (BEng, BSc, MEng, MSc) in Control Systems Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or similar
  • Coding experience in at least one high-level language (e.g., C, VB, C#, Java)
  • Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming techniques
  • Interest or understanding of operating systems, virtualization, and networking
  • Willingness to travel and work away when required
  • Experience writing PLC software to IEC61131 standards using ladder, function block, sequential function chart, or structured text
  • Experience with SCADA systems
  • Knowledge of communication protocols
  • Experience with virtualization using VMWare or HyperV
  • Experience with Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 and domain configuration
  • Experience configuring network switches and firewalls
  • Experience with simulation software (e.g., SIMIT, PICS, WinMOD)
  • Full UK driving license

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
