Qualifications

  • University Degree in Control Systems Engineering or similar required.
  • Coding experience in at least one high-level language is required.
  • Experience in writing PLC software using IEC61131 standards is important.

Responsibilities

  • Perform software design, development, and implementation for PLC/IED control and SCADA systems.
  • Work on all project lifecycle aspects including upgrades and modifications.
  • Provide training as needed and manage project tasks under pressure.

Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming

Summary of Role:

We seek enthusiastic graduate engineers to join our Energy team to perform software design, development, and implementation for PLC/IED control and/or SCADA Operational Technology Systems. The successful candidate will work on all project lifecycle aspects for PLC/IED and SCADA/DCS systems in renewable power generation, storage, transmission, and distribution industries. Projects include system upgrades, modifications, and new builds. Training will be provided as needed. This role is suitable for graduates seeking a career in control system automation software.

  • University Degree (BEng, BSc, MEng, MSc) in Control Systems Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or similar
  • Coding experience in at least one high-level language (e.g., C, VB, C#, Java)
  • Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming concepts
  • Interest or understanding of operating systems, virtualization, and networking
  • Willingness to travel and work away when required
  • Experience in writing PLC software to IEC61131 standards using ladder, function block diagram, sequential function chart, and structured text
  • Experience with SCADA systems
  • Knowledge of communication protocols
  • Experience with virtualization using VMWare or HyperV
  • Experience with Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 and Domain Configuration
  • Experience in network switch and firewall configuration
  • Experience with simulation software such as SIMIT, PICS, WinMOD
  • Full UK Driving Licence
