We are seeking a Junior Consultant to join our Experience Design team. In this role, you will report to a Senior Consultant and work on a variety of research, UX, and service design projects across both the private and public sectors. We are looking for someone with a diverse set of research and design skills who can conduct discovery research, support co-design workshops, assist with user testing and pilots, and is passionate about delivering human-centred services.

  • Support project work across a range of clients.
  • Carry out research activities, including attending kick-off meetings, recruiting participants, preparing discussion guides, writing surveys, and supporting the moderation of research sessions. You may also be required to moderate sessions when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with others to analyse and synthesise research data.
  • Effectively communicate research insights to stakeholders in a clear and actionable format.
  • Contribute to wider team activities, such as supporting or leading internal workshops and participating in various initiatives.
  • Write opinion pieces to share insights and thought leadership within the industry.

Essential skills and experience

  • Minimum qualifications: A Bachelor’s Degree in social sciences, human-computer interaction, or related field, OR a degree in another field with extensive research experience.
  • At least two years of experience working as a researcher, UX researcher, or service designer in the public or private sector.
  • A strong understanding of research methodologies, both qualitative and quantitative, UX and service design skills.
  • Proven experience in conducting or supporting primary research in either the public or private sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead or support qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
  • Evidence of critical thinking and the capability to generate innovative ideas and solutions for clients.
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly in writing and presentation.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Desirable skills and experience

  • Experience working on projects for large-scale tech companies such as Amazon, Meta, Apple, Facebook, or Google.
  • Familiarity with accessibility design principles.
  • Experience applying the double diamond methodology or the Government Digital Services (GDS) framework.
  • Experience in designing and facilitating co-design workshops.
  • Experience working in cross-functional or product teams.
