Job summary

The Lensbury in Teddington is seeking a Commis Chef to join our busy kitchen team. You will assist in food preparation, learn high quality techniques, and contribute to dishes under the direction of senior chefs.

We value a Food Safety Level 2 candidate with a desire to develop skills, work well in a team, and produce consistent, excellent results. Benefits include staff meals, access to leisure facilities, and ongoing training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Food Safety Level 2 certification is required.
• Experience or interest in food preparation.
• Willingness to develop skills and grow within the team.
• Ability to work efficiently and cooperatively in a team.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Good spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the food preparation process.
• Cook and prepare elements of menu dishes.
• Prepare vegetables, meats and fish.
• Measure dish ingredients and portion sizes accurately.
• Keep the sections clean and sanitary.
• Record cooking temperatures in Alert 65 system.
• Assist other Chefs as requested.
• Help with deliveries and restocking.
• Stock rotation duties.
• Maintain kitchen and food safety standards.
