Moxie People, partnering with a growing precision engineering business in Cardiff, is recruiting a Junior CNC Operator. You will join a skilled team producing precision components and learn CNC milling, turning and 5-axis machining.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machinery safely and efficiently.
• Read and understand engineering drawings.
• Perform basic machine setups and tooling changes.
• Carry out quality checks using measuring equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Support experienced machinists and ISO 9001 quality standards.

About the Role

You'll join a skilled machining team producing precision components for a range of technical applications.

This role is ideal for someone with some manufacturing, engineering, machining or machine operating experience who wants to develop their technical skills and build a career in CNC machining.

You'll receive training and support while learning how to:

• Operate CNC machinery safely and efficiently
• Read and understand engineering drawings
• Perform basic machine setups
• Carry out quality checks using measuring equipment
• Change tooling and make basic adjustments
• Support experienced machinists with machine preparation
• Learn offsets, datums and CNC setting techniques
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment
• Support ISO 9001 quality standards and continuous improvement activities

• Doosan Lynx 2100LSYB CNC Lathe
• Doosan DNM 4500 Machining Centre
• Quaser MT400U 5-Axis Machining Centre
• Fanuc-controlled machinery

What We're Looking For

• Some experience in manufacturing, engineering or machine operation
• Ability to read basic engineering drawings (or willingness to learn)
• Good attention to detail
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Reliable and keen to develop a long-term career
• Basic experience using measuring equipment is beneficial
• Engineering qualifications, apprenticeships or college training are advantageous but not essential

Previous experience as a Machine Operator, Production Operative, CNC Operator, Engineering Apprentice, Manual Machinist or Manufacturing Operative would be beneficial.
