We seek enthusiastic doctors to join the Paediatric Emergency Department at St Mary’s Hospital. Ideal for trainees interested in paediatrics or emergency medicine, aiming to develop confidence and skills in managing acutely ill children. Experience in paediatrics or emergency medicine is desirable but not essential.
St Mary’s Hospital is a busy Major Trauma Centre with comprehensive paediatric specialties, part of the North London Paediatric Specialist Network, and boasts a strong academic and research environment. The department is staffed by dedicated paediatric nurses and led by PEM consultants. Trainees come from paediatric and emergency medicine backgrounds on a 2-tier rota.
Candidates must have at least 1 year of paid NHS experience in the UK; observerships do not qualify.
Under supervision, see a variety of presentations, gain experience in emergency care, participate in resuscitations, and undertake quality improvement projects to enhance patient care.
