Job description

This role will enable a core level equivalent doctor to gain experience as part of our Anaesthetic team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. You will work under the supervision of consultants to deliver high-quality patient care and support colleagues and nursing staff as needed.

The post is designed for training-level medics with anaesthetic experience who wish to consolidate their knowledge, skills, and confidence before progressing in their careers.

The post mainly involves working in operating theatres to gain experience and training in anaesthesia across various elective and emergency surgical specialties. There may also be opportunities to gain further experience in critical care or obstetric anaesthesia based on developmental needs.

Candidates will have opportunities to discuss specific training and development goals during this role.

On-call duties are scheduled at a frequency of 1:8 on the 1st on-call Resident Doctor rota.

A clinical supervisor will be assigned to support the appointee throughout the placement.

The minimum skill requirement, including completion of postgraduate training, is outlined in the attached Person Specification.

The successful candidate must be able to start from 01 October 2025.
