Job summaryThis is an exciting opportunity for a motivated clinician with an interest in academic urology to join the world-leading urological oncology team at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust. The post offers hands-on clinical experience across a range of tertiary-level surgical oncology services, as well as a dedicated research focusparticularly in advanced prostate cancer. It is ideally suited for candidates looking to further develop their academic portfolio in a high-impact environment or to potentially pursue a higher research degree (MD/PhD). The successful applicant will work closely with consultant colleagues in urology and collaborators across the University of Manchester and Cancer Research UK Manchester Institute on clinical/translational research projects
Main duties of the jobThe post-holder will provide clinical and research support to the surgical urological oncology service at The Christie. Clinical duties include working in outpatient clinics, theatre, diagnostics, and multidisciplinary team (MDT) settings. The Fellow will also undertake a lead research project and contribute to departmental research studies, which may include the STAMPEDE trial, the National Prostate Cancer Audit, or associated translational studies. For the right candidate, opportunities exist to align research with a higher degree. There is no mandatory on-call commitment, although participation in a surgical oncology on-call rota may be possible.
