Job summary

Amey is seeking an Assistant Civil Engineer in Gloucester to join our civil engineering team. The role focuses on delivering technically sound highway projects and supporting design development from concept through to delivery.

You will work with experienced engineers, develop your design and inspection skills, and contribute to safe project execution within our Integrated Management System framework. Gloucester-based position with ample development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Graduate-level civil engineering degree or equivalent.
• Understanding of highways design processes and procedures.
• Ability to produce technically sound engineering solutions with limited supervision.
• Familiarity with health, safety and welfare procedures incl. CDM Regulations.
• Knowledge of technical and specification processes and ability to take ownership of deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Work in a team, producing technically sound engineering solutions.
• Support the management and technical delivery of projects from start to finish, including design development, inspections, feasibility and technical reports.
• Prepare and check designs, calculations, drawings and documentation to meet quality, cost and programme criteria.
• Support effective health and safety practices within the team.
