Job summary

Borough Kitchen in London is seeking a Buying Assistant to join at the start of their buying journey. You will work with the Head of Buying to move product and supplier activity quickly and accurately, supporting new product set-up, data, samples and testing.

Focus is on buying administration, development of Borough Kitchen own-brand products, and hands-on exposure to cookware and tableware. This role suits someone who loves cooking and learning through real product experience.

Qualifications

• Exceptional attention to detail and highly organised with ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proactive and able to take ownership to move tasks forward.
• Strong written and verbal communication for supplier relationships.
• Comfortable working with numbers, spreadsheets and product data.
• Commercially curious with eye for product and demand.
• Cooking and entertaining passion; willing to test and compare products.
• Curious about product feel and performance; understand function and durability.
• Curious and confident using AI to improve processes.
• Eager to learn and build a career in Buying; previous buying experience not required.

Responsibilities

• Support Head of Buying with day-to-day running of the Buying function.
• Own admin of new product and supplier set-up including specs, costs, barcodes and imagery.
• Coordinate new product critical paths and follow up with suppliers.
• Manage product samples from arrival to sign-off for testing and marketing.
• Research and identify potential new products, particularly kitchen tools.
• Support own-brand product development with suppliers on specs and packaging.
• Prepare sales, margin, stock information for range reviews.
• Collaborate with Retail, eCommerce, Marketing, Operations, Inventory and Finance to launch.
