Job summary

ASL in the Aylesbury region is seeking a motivated Junior Buyer to join our established engineering team. You will support purchasing activities, raise and manage orders, and help ensure on-time delivery.

You will gain experience across ERP/MRP systems, supplier negotiations, and import/export documentation, with the opportunity to grow within a forward-thinking company.

The role offers real training in procurement with a supportive small team and a clear path for career development.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in buying, procurement and purchasing.
• CIPS Level 3 preferred.
• ERP/MRP/SAP experience.
• Knowledge of imports/exports and customs clearance advantageous.
• Strong supplier relationship management and negotiation skills.
• Experience in engineering/manufacturing procurement preferred.

• Buying, purchasing, pricing and checking availability
• Invoice and GRPO support
• Import export documentation
• Supplier communication regarding quotations, order progress, deliveries, pricing queries, availability issues

A motivated Junior Buyer is required for our market leading, award-winning engineering client based in the Aylesbury region. In return there is a excellent salary of circa £33k-£38k+ dependant on experience with excellent company benefits including annual company bonus and excellent pension scheme in an established reputable company.

The ideal Junior buyer will have the following key skills and experiences;

• Good buyer, procurement, purchasing experience
• CIPS qualification ideally level 3, CIPS membership, supply chain qualifications
• Good systems experience, ERP, MRP, SAP or similar
• Experience, knowledge of imports, exports, freight, customs clearance (advantageous)
• Good supplier relationship management experience and negotiation skills
• Experience of procurement processes within engineering, manufacturing or technical industries ideally or similar
